SkyLight Roles & Available Workflows

SkyLight IP is designed to deliver Role-Based, Workflow Driven User Interactions.
Instead of relying on you, the user to do a lot of post search filtering, refining and analysis – we have created (and can customize) use case specific workflows based on specific search objective.

Please review our current collection of Roles & Workflows.  New workflows are roles are always in development and we are happy to work directly with our clients to customize workflows.

Utilize the Simple Semantic Search Role to perform basic input queries.  The following workflows are typical of what is provided with most IP Search platforms:
Input Patent #’s and Find Related IP
Input Descriptive Text & Find Related IP

Additional Query Options:
– Descriptive Text Flexibility – paste/type text; upload a document or extract text from a URL
– Include Simple Boolean logic as part of your Semantic Search
– Set a date range

Our IP Strategist Role is designed to provide workflows that help with doing competitive portfolio analysis. The following workflows collect different inputs, including Assignee information to better target and shape analysis:

Portfolio One:  Directed Semantic analysis of a Single Organization
– Select a single assignee and SkyLight will take their entire portfolio and cluster it into topical segments.

Portfolio Plus: Directed Semantic analysis of 2+ Organizations
– Select multiple assignee organizations and cluster full portfolios into topical segments.  An excellent way to do competitive analysis.

Directed Semantic Portfolio Analysis: One or more Organizations w/ Semantic Search Overlay
– Select 1 or more organizations, then utilize patent #’s and/or textual input to do a semantic search against the full portfolios prior to clustering into segments.  An excellent workflow to explore specific topics within targeted portfolios.

Our IP Licensing Executive Role is designed to provide workflows that help with identifying licensing or sale candidates. The following workflows collect inputs in unique ways to help refine and organize results to better target new opportunities:

Topic Explorer: Identify License Candidates Based on Sample Patents &/or Descriptive Text
– Find patents related to input criteria, cluster the results and highlight companies within each cluster.

Related Portfolio Explorer: Identify License Candidates Similar to Assignee(s) that I Choose
– A unique SkyLight capability – select 1 or more organizations and SkyLight’s ‘Related Portfolio Search’ technology will find other companies with similar portfolios and then cluster those portfolios for analysis.

SkyLight Explorer: Identify License Candidates Similar to Assignee(s) + Filter by Topic(s) that I Choose
– Merging SkyLight’s 3 Core Technologies into a Single Workflow – select 1+ organizations & input search criteria (patent #’s and/or text descriptions).  SkyLight then uses this input to identify organizations with related portfolios.  Users are then able to refine the list of related organizations desired to be included in the final analysis.  We then take the chosen Organizations, run a semantic search with the given input criteria and finally cluster the results for review.
